Welcome to The Reading Room

By Shank

In radiology, the reading room is where scans get interpreted — where raw signal becomes clinical insight. This section of the site is my version of that: a place to read, interpret, and write about the technology behind medical imaging.

What to expect here

While the Circuit Notes section covers general software engineering, this space is dedicated to the HealthTech domain:

  • MRI & imaging physics — how k-space becomes an image, pulse sequences, reconstruction pipelines.
  • Medical imaging software — DICOM, PACS, viewers, and the plumbing that moves pixels between scanners and screens.
  • Computer vision in healthcare — segmentation, registration, detection models, and what it takes to make them clinically useful.
  • Robotics & devices — where imaging meets intervention.

Why a separate section?

Domain knowledge in HealthTech compounds differently from general engineering knowledge. Keeping these posts in their own reading room makes it easier to follow the thread — and easier for me to go deep without context-switching.

First real post coming soon. Until then, the scanner is warming up.
